DEAR COLLEAGUES AND FRIENDS,
The Board of Regents of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Executive Council of the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons cordially invite you to attend the ACOMS and CAOMS Joint Annual Conference and Exhibition — From Sea to Sky: Climbing to New Heights of Excellence in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, May 3 – 5, 2017 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The Scientific Chairmen for this meeting are Sean Edwards, DDS, MD; Nicholas Makhoul, DMD, MD, FRCD(C); and Miller Smith, DDS, MD, FRCD(C). They have worked diligently to develop an outstanding educational program with daily themes including clefts, implants, and medicine/anesthesia/ pathology.
The exceptional faculty presenting at this conference will address a range of topics and it all begins with a pre-conference workshop on cosmetic procedures on Wednesday, May 3. Lecture topics for the conference include alveolar bone grafting, distraction osteogenesis in the cleft population, cleft orthognathic surgery, zygomatic implants, new grafting techniques to the mandible, restoring the atrophic jaw – a prosthodontics perspective, oral cancer screening, obstructive sleep apnea, and more.
The conference will provide many opportunities to meet and socialize with fellow surgeons, the next generation of OMS, and valued suppliers to our specialty. The opening social event is the welcome reception in the exhibit hall on Wednesday, where attendees can learn about the latest products and services and begin their quest to win prizes in our exhibitor raffle. The next evening features an off-site dinner at one of the most unique venues in Vancouver and a spectacular dinner event on Friday evening closes out the meeting. Your family will have a wonderful time in Vancouver, so plan to bring them along!
Vancouver is a fantastic city offering something for everyone, with endless activities to enjoy. Take a gondola from sea to sky and visit resident grizzly bears on Grouse Mountain. Learn about First Nations culture in museums and galleries throughout the city. Take the ferry to Granville Island to visit the Public Market for the freshest seafood and other delights. Go whale watching or relax with an outstanding varietal from British Columbia’s wine country. With its sparkling ocean, majestic mountains, and world class amenities, Vancouver is a perfect setting for our conference.
Take a few days from your busy schedule to enrich your practice and your friendships at the ACOMS and CAOMS Joint Annual Conference and Exhibition. We look forward to sharing an exciting and rewarding time with you in Vancouver in May!
